Urban Farmer Livestock Solutions Kenya hosted a highly successful Commercial Layer Farmers’ Day on 20 November 2025 at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi. The event brought together commercial layer farmers involved in on-farm feed mixing, along with current UFLS clients, prospective customers, and representatives from breeder companies and partner organisations including Modern Ways Limited and Pharmsave Limited.

A skilled training team made up of Steven Payne, Richard Bownes, Marne Visagie, Dr. Amelia Visagie and Michael Mugo delivered insightful sessions focused on key areas of modern layer production. Topics covered included an introduction to Urban Farmer and its macro solutions, the importance of hygiene for safe feed and profitable egg production, and effective pullet management for long-term productivity. The nutrition discussions focused on managing raw material variability and applying practical strategies to improve feed quality, while the health segment highlighted the impact of subclinical diseases and global medication trends on African poultry farms.

Participants responded very positively, noting that the training closely reflected their daily challenges and provided valuable guidance to enhance productivity, profitability, and sustainability on their farms.
