Urban Farmer had the opportunity to participate in the 8th Annual Southern African Youth Forum in Johannesburg on the 21st of July 2026.
The forum focused on “Enhancing Food Security and Water Resilience through Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action for Youth Empowerment”. It provided a vital platform for discussions on enhancing regional cooperation and aligning youth activities with the strategic goals set by the African Union and SADC.
During the forum, Urban Farmer’s founder, Steven Payne, was invited to share his story.
Steven spoke to the vision that he had to support farmers to utilise their surplus crops to produce well-balanced animal feed, and the importance of good feeding in enabling competitive livestock production in Africa, and ultimately in enhancing food security on the continent.
