Urban Farmer is proud to announce the establishment of the Africa Livestock Academy (ALA), a business dedicated to livestock education, training and skills development across Africa.
ALA builds on years of practical training experience within Urban Farmer, through which close to 5,000 farmers have been trained across Africa. The Academy was created to formalise and expand this experience into structured, outcomes-based learning for the livestock sector.
Its focus extends across the value chain, from smallholder and emerging farmers to commercial operations, industry professionals and recent graduates preparing to enter the agricultural workforce.
The Academy is QCTO accredited, with accredited occupational training forming part of a broader offering that includes practical short courses, bespoke industry training, capacity-building programmes and industry partnerships.
ALA’s ambition is to become a recognised industry training partner and centre of expertise, developing technically capable, commercially aware and work-ready people who can contribute meaningfully to livestock production across Africa.
Rooted in industry. Designed for impact. Educating Africa’s growth.
