Steven Payne of Urban Farmer and De Wet Boshoff of the Animal Feed Manufacturers Association of South Africa (AFMA) were honoured to participate in the National Executive Committee meeting of the Association of Kenyan Feed Manufacturers (AKEFEMA) on the 12th of February 2020 in Kenya.

Urban Farmer was instrumental in bringing AFMA and AKEFEMA together and Steven Payne was recognised by the chairman of AKEFEMA, Mr Joseph Karuri, as being a “true friend of the association” for his role in bringing about this meeting and for his contribution to the association over the past 10 years.

The meeting was a great success with De Wet Boshoff explaining the structure, role, functioning and responsibility of AFMA in the South African feed industry and fielding questions from the committee regarding challenges faced by AKEFEMA in Kenya. With such collaboration the future of feed production in Africa looks extremely positive.
